In a recent interview the retired 50-0 boxer, Floyd Mayweather stated how he has a hidden passion for Newcastle United. Who’d have thought that?
With a long battle against owner Mike Ashley, could this finally be a turning point? Probably not – but it still feels good to be hopeful. Whether or not Mayweather actually has the funds to do this is another matter, but atleast a stake in the club could be a step in the right direction.
“If the people want me to buy the Newcastle team, let me know”
Mayweather’s accociates were approached after the interview to see if the interest was real or if this was just something to cause a bit of a stir. However, the response was that Mayweather is interested but no official negotiations have taken place; yet!
