To begin, what does AI mean and what does it actually do?
Artifical Intelligence, shortened to A.I is something that is becoming a very popular area of research and develeopment for businesses. Many businesses now want to implement at least one part of this technology into their operations in order to be much more efficient and have a competitive advantage. Essentially, an A.I is a computer programme or machine that has the ability to think and learn just like a human. As development progresses A.I will become more independent and unique, in my opinion, it is ultimately making a computer or machine as human-like as possible in a beneficial way to achieve certain goals. More examples will come throughout this post and show how you yourself will experience or may have already come into contact with A.I
Examples of A.I technology currently in use and that you may have experienced.
It is something that many people now encounter on a daily basis without even realising, for instance; Amazon Alexa is built on A.I technology allowing it to listen and understand your commands and give you the results you need. This is just one very simple example of how big of a deal A.I currently is and how it will soon revolutionise the world.
The role A.I plays in Digital Marketing
Facebook and Google are already at the forefront proving the efficiency of A.I in the targeting of specific ads, in order to precisely aim certain products and services to potential customers they utilise A.I to segregate target audiences for products and ensure that people who use these channels to market are reaching the correct audience for what they are promoting.
Even simple things such as Chat Bots on websites can make browsing sites much more user friendly, if somebody wants to ask a question they can simply message and receive an immediate response from the A.I. As time goes on, these kinds of bots will continue to learn and each unique question will develop them to then be much more effective the next time round.
These same Chat Bots can be utilised to acquire, convert and even retain customers and provide great customer service if used correctly. It could be programmed to take bookings and automatically put them into a scheduled system, check availabilitys, the possibilities are almost endless.
Almost every large retail company now uses A.I technology to personalise emails. Amazon are known for this, when you keep something in your basket or look at specific products you may then receive an email a few days after for products that are similar. This is something that almost any business could implement in their marketing strategy and is a guaranteed way of generating more sales.

With further research and development into A.I technology the digital marketing industry will be revolutionised with what can be provided. The opportunities really are endless and it is mainly focused on what can be achieved in the very near future as it begins to be at the forefront of developing technology.
